23-108 (12-19) Approving Implementation of 2020 Compensation Study and Establishing Updated Compensation Grid and Classification Table RESOLUTION NO. 23-108 RESOLUTION APPROVING IMPLEMENTATION OF 2020 COMPENSATION STUDY AND ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION GRID AND CLASSIFICATION TABLE WHEREAS, in 2020, the City conducted a full compensation and classification study (the “Study”) to ensure the City is paying competitive and fair wages to its employees; and WHEREAS, on December 15, 2020 the City Council approved implementation of the Study; and adopted the compensation grid for the City: WHEREAS, on December 15, 2020 the City also adopted a Classification Table that assigned a grade to each position within the City; and WHEREAS, positions are routinely reviewed and reclassified according to position responsibilities; and the Council approved changes to the classification table by Resolution 21-13 on March 16, 2021; and by Resolution 21-38 on May 18, 2021; and by Resolution 21-114 on December 21, 2021, and by Resolution 22- 048 on May 3, 2022, and by Resolution 22-120 on December 20, 2022; and by Resolution 23-007 on February 7, 2023, and by Resolution 23-017 on April 4, 2023; and by Resolution 23-062 on July 5, 2023; and WHEREAS, in alignment with the City’s values of communication and accountability, it is the City’s practice for the City Council to review and adopt the Compensation Grid and Classification Table annually; and WHEREAS, the City Council supports the health and wellness of City employees and their families through qualified flexible health benefit plans; and WHEREAS, the City provides a cafeteria plan that allows employees to design their own benefit packages by purchasing benefits with a pre-specified amount of employer dollars; and WHEREAS, the effective date and eligibility of City’s health insurance and contribution is established by the Employee Handbook; and WHEREAS, the amount of the employers’ monthly contribution is established annually by the City Council; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Minnesota, that: 1. The City hereby adopts the 2024 monthly health benefit contribution as $1,652.10. 2.
