5.Approval of Minutes – September 23, 2024
MOTION moved by Commissioner Bergmanand seconded by CommissionerCornelius
to approve the September 23, 2024meeting minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
6.Brookview Golf Staff Introductions
Staff from Brookview Golf introduced themselves and included: Ben Disch, Golf Manager; Mike
Ward, Golf Maintenance Supervisor; Brett Johnson, Assistant Golf Manager; Andrew Bromander,
Golf Operations Coordinator; and Justin Norcutt, Golf Operations Coordinator.
Commissioners then shared introductions.
7.Brookview Golf Year in Review
Brookview Golf staff provided updates on golf, lawn bowling, and winter recreation for 2024
and answered questions from the commission.
Highlights from the 2024 season include:

8. Brookview Golf CIP
Brookview Golf staff discussed the upcoming 10-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and
answered questions from the commission.
9.Commission and Staff Updates
a.Commission updates–Commissioner Corneliusshared interest in seeing more pickleball
courts at Brookview Park to accommodate the growing need. Crossfield said the current
plan is to add four courts to Brookview Park. Staff will monitor and evaluate feasibility for
future courts after that project is completed.
b. Natchez Park update – Crossfield said an open house to share playground and sun shelter
concepts to the public took place on Wednesday, October 23. She said residents could
vote in person at the open house or online through the city website.
c. Isaacson Park update – Crossfield said installation of the playground began on October 21
with anticipated completion by the end of this week. She also said in the next few weeks,
city staff will be installing drain tile and a contractor will install an engineered wood fiber
base.
d. Parks Tour follow-up – Crossfield shared information on inquiries that came up at the
parks tour. Those include:
The Brookview pickleball courts will have portable nets to protect theintegrity of
the hard surface.
The playground replacement schedule includes Seeman Park in 2025 and
Stockman Park in 2026.
e. Next OSRC meeting is Monday, November 25 at 6:30 pm

5.Approval of Minutes–October 28, 2024
Chair speltz requested more information be added to the Brookview Golf Year in Review discussion
and the minutes be brought back to the January 27, 2025 meeting for approval.
In addition, Commissioner Cornelius requested more agenda materials (when possible) be shared
prior to meetings for review.
6.Staff Updates
a.CommissionerResignation –Chair Weiswerda has moved out of the city, therefore has
resigned from the commission.
b.Parks and Recreation Staffing Updates
An internal job has been posted for an Assistant Parks and Recreation Director.
Wendy Maanum was promoted to Restaurant and Events Manager.
Beginning in 2025, the Assistant Parks and Recreation Director will become the
staff liaison to the commission.

7. Three One Six Annual Update
Staff member Maanum and Poplinski shared Three One Six restaurant and catering updates.
They include:
Three One Six will have catered 1,112 eventsat Brookviewby the end of 2024,which
include the banquet spaces, Lawn Bowling,and the Backyard.
497 total paid reservations for 2024
11 weddings booked for 2025
Bassett Creek room is booked every Saturday from April through August 2025.
Catering and restaurant menu changes, including a winter beverage menu, addinga
mac-n-cheese bar and mashed potato bar to the catering menu, and gluten-free, dairy-
free, and vegan options.
Evergreen Deck is now included with the Bassett Creek North room and the full Bassett
Creek room rather than a separate rental.
2025 rental fees for the Bassett Creek room slightly increased by $5/hour.
To date for 2024, catering revenue is $315,039.
Maanum said they currently have 4full-time employees, 11 Staff Coordinators, 25 part-time
staff, and during the peak season they typically have an additional 45 part-time employees.
Commissioner Cornelius said his daughter hosted an event at Brookview and everything went
very well. He gave two thumbs up to the staff.
Chair Speltz asked Maanum and Poplinski their wish list for the restaurant and events. Maanum
said they would like to add more add-on options to catering and rentals.
Commissioner Cornelius asked about restaurant events. Staff member Martinez Del Arca
shared information on the upcoming Puzzle Pursuit being hosted at Three One Six. Crossfield
added that staff is also working on increasing social media presence for the restaurant and their
upcoming events.
Discussion followed with sharing ideas for drawing business to Three One Six.
8. Commission and Staff Updates
a. Commission updates – None
b. Brookview pickleball courts – Crossfield said the courts will be resurfaced to five
pickleball courts. Commissioner Delaney suggested adding an alternative bid for six
courts, as part of the RFP process. Crossfield said she would discuss the project with Al
Lundstrom.
c. Blizzard Bash – Martinez Del Arca said Supper With Santa has been rebranded to Blizzard
Bash. The event will include food, entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a visit
from Santa. Blizzard Bash is free and you do not need to register in advance. It will be held
on Friday, December 6 from 5:30-8:30 pm at Brookview. Martinez Del Arca also said he’s
looking for volunteers for the event.
