Meeting Minutes
Golden Valley City Offices, Council Chambers
Members Present: Bob Blenkush, Joyce Doerffler, Hilmer Erickson, Elissa
Heilicher, Gloria Johnson, Bob Lang, Sharon Mattison, Robbin Rouillard,
Duane Wosje, Sue Virnig - staffliaison and Harlen Peterson - golf tourney
liaison.
Members Absent: Jay Hoffman, Rod Wooten
1. The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Bob Blenkush.
2. The motion was made to approve the meeting minutes of December 9,
1996. The motion was passed and seconded. The motion was made to
approve the meeting minutes of January 13, 1997. The motion was passed
and seconded.
3. Golf Tournament Talk
a. Harlen Peterson talked to D' Amico and Starbucks. They will help
sponsor the tournament.
b. Recap of Special Golf Tourney Meeting on January 27, 1997.
- Registration will start at 7:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast.
- Shotgun start will be at 8:00 a.m.; figuring a five-hour round to
complete.
- Lunch catered by D'Amico from 1 :00 - 1 :30 for an estimated 200
people (144 participants plus volunteers).
c. Marketing. Robbin Rouillard passed out an outline for objectives,
support, communication vehicles, timeline, promotional pieces and a
sample letter. Some changes were made to the letter. Robbin
Rouillard will draft a special letter to food sponsors.
d. Volunteers. A request was made to mention an all-call for volunteers
in the Golden Valley newsletter. No decision was made.
e. Corporate Sponsors. Rod Wooten had said in the last meeting, that
he would check with Opus Corporation for sponsorship. A
suggestion was made to look for corporate sponsorship at the $3,000
level.
f. T-Shirts. All volunteers will get a Golden Valley T-Shirt.

g. Official Name: Golden Valley Golf Classic. Bob Blenkush will
present the Golf Classic at the February 18, 1997 City Council
meeting at 6:30 p.m.
h. Thanks Y ous. All sponsors and volunteers should receive "thank
yous" by members of the GVHSF.
4. Flower Sale
A motion was made to have the Flower Sale in May. The date for the sale
is yet to be determined.
5. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 8:26 p.m.
