Minutes of the May 12, 1997
Golden Valley Park & Recreation Lilac Room
Members Present: Sharon Mattison, Duane Wosje, Bob Blenkush, Joyce
Doerffler,Gloria Johnson, Robbin Rouilard, Jay Hoffman, and Sue Virnig, Staff
liaison. Others present: Harlen Peterson, golf tournament co-chair, Kris Tovson,
Brookview Golf Operations Manager.
Members. Absent: Hilmer Erickson, Elissa Heilicher, Bob Lang, Rod Wooten.
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 by Chair Jay Hoffman.
Minutes: Bob Blenkush moved and Robbin Rouilard seconded the motion to
approve the April 14, 1997 minutes. The motion passed unanimously.
Elections: Gloria Johnson nominated Bob Blenkush as chair. Bob Blenkush had
to decline because he is taking a different job with Marquette in Bloomington. He
would stay on through the golf tournament and help with planning but that would
be all he would be able to do because his new job might need more time for
other committees.
Jay Hoffman moved that Bob Lang serve as chair and Duane Wosje seconded
the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Robbin Rouilard moved that Sharon Mattison serve as vice-chair and Bob
Blenkush seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Gloria moved that Robbin Rouilard serve as secretary and Joyce Doerffler
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Flower sale: Sharon Mattison went over the logistics for the flower sale.
Golf Toumament: Kris Tovson attended the meeting by request of the
Foundation. Sharon Mattison and Bob Lang would meet with Kris later regarding
volunteers and location of events that are to be held. Harlen asked about betting
on the course.Kris said that if betting was allowed it should be approved by the
City Council. Harlen asked if Brookview would give the people in the tournament
warm up balls atthe range. Many more meetings will have to be set up to go
over all the details. Kris said the maximum number in a tournament is 128. The
Par 3's would only allow one foursome.
Other: Sue Virnig asked if the Foundation would still be interested in holding the
run/walk in September. The Foundation would have to come up with a new T-
shirt if they wanted to stay in the run/walk business. Robbin moved that Bob
Lang look at possible T-shirt alternatives and Bob Blenkush seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.

The by-laws will be reviewed in June.
Home Free Shelter will be asked to come to the July meeting to talk about their
service to Golden Valley residents.
The next meeting is June 9,1997.
Gloria Johnson moved adjournment at 8:30pm and was seconded by Sharon
Mattison. The motion passed unanimously.
