Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Bob Lang, Chair.
No minutes of the March, 1998 meeting available to approve. Introduction of new
member, Terri DeVeau from Marquette Bank as our newest business member. Joyce
Doerffler will be resigning from the foundation.
Golf Tournament
Marketing Plan Ideas - The brochure/layout discussion was tabled due to Robbin's
absence. Discussion will take place at next meeting.
To date, only a few sponsors have committed; Marquette Bank at the $1,000 level and Red
Line at the $500 level. Medicine Lake was purchased by Ryder and will not be
participating.
Fun Run
Schedule - Everyone should meet at the shelter by the tennis courts at 6:30 a.m. Due to the
5KI10K event there will be two timers working. No winners will be announced this year
and all awards and official times will be mailed to participants.
Jeff Hansen has over 20 volunteers ready to work. Many will be placed along the route to
ensure that runners are on the correct route. The 5K will use the same route as in the past;
the lOK will, of course, be larger and will be a different course. All participants will
finish at the small shelter.
Jeff Hansen also was able to get us a 30 second air spot on 97.1 radio station. He and Sue
will work together in submitting the information.
Sponsors - We will be getting food or drink from Super America, Valley Mills, General
Mills, Einstein Bagels, and NSI Griswold. We have received cash donations from Jim
Lupient, Norwest Bank, GV Rotary, MEPC Properties and Doolittles. Doolittles did not
want to be a major sponsor for this event, but did give us a $200 donation toward the run.
Bob Lang has redesigned the t-shirt for this year. It will remain similar in the logo design,
and "Run the Valley" will be on the front. It will be black, red, and yellow and will be
printed on a long-sleeved light gray shirt. We will be printing 300 shirts in total.
A contributors spread sheet has been designed by Sue and Sharon to list contributors, type
of donation, year of donation and event. This will provide the committee with an easier
way to monitor companies contacted and donations made.
Meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
skson
