06-01-10 CC Minutes Regular Meeting of the City Council June 1, 2010 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Golden Valley, Hennepin County, Minnesota was held at 7800 Golden Valley Road in said City on June 1, 2010 at 6:30 pm. The following members were present: Freiberg, Loomis, Pentel, Scanlon and Shaffer. Also present were: Thomas Burt, City Manager; Jeannine Clancy, Director of Public Works; Allen Barnard, City Attorney; and Judy Nally, Administrative Assistant. Board/Commission Oath of Office and Presentation of Certificate of Appointment Mayor Loomis administered the oath of office and presented a Certificate of Appointment, mug and city pin to: Brad Kadue, Open Space and Recreation Commission and Karen Utt, Environmental Commission. Approval of Agenda MOVED by Pentel, seconded by Freiberg and motion carried unanimously to approve the agenda of June 1, 2010 as amended: Removal of Second Consideration - Ordinance #440 - Interim Ordinance Imposing a Twelve Month Moratorium - Portion of Douglas Drive Corridor- Block 1 and 2, Expressway International Park and Approve Summary Publication from Consent Agenda and consider it under New Business. Regular Meeting of the City Council June 1, 2010 Page 3 *Acceptance of Donation - Golden Valley Federated Women's Club for Concerts in the Park Series Member Freiberg introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION 10-32 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM GOLDEN VALLEY FEDERATED WOMEN'S CLUB FOR CONCERTS IN THE PARK SERIES The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was seconded by Member Scanlon and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Freiberg, Loomis, Pentel, Scanlon and Shaffer; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, signed by the Mayor . and her signature attested by the City Clerk. *Authorization to Sian Service Aareement with Home Free MOVED by Freiberg, seconded by Scanlon and motion carried unanimously to authorize the City Manager to sign the service agreement with Missions Inc.lHome Free. *Application for Attorney General Opinion Reaardina County 911 Dispatch Services MOVED by Freiberg, seconded by Scanlon and motion carried unanimously to approve the City Attorney's draft letter to the Minnesota Attorney General requesting an opinion regarding the applicability of Minnesota Statutes Section 403.01, et seq. requiring counties to operate and maintain 911 emergency telecommunications systems to benefit county residents and direct staff to complete and send the request.
