I/I
Inspections in the 2012 PMP area continue. Point of Sale inspections have slowed
down as they typically do during the late fall/winter months.
The City is going through an audit of the 2008-2009 foundation drain disconnection
grant program, which is being conducted by MCES.
Golden Valley has taken the lead in an effort to reduce the amount of clear water that is
entering the City’s sanitary sewer system. The Metropolitan Council

(http://www.epa.gov/region1/sso/toolbox.html), as well as others, have highlighted
Golden Valley’s approach to reducing I/I as a potential model for other communities to
follow. City staff is currently preparing a paper that will be a peer reviewed article
explaining Golden Valley’s efforts and the outcomes of the work completed thus far.
