She noted that there was a two-story house directly across the street on 26th Avenue North and a two-story house across the parkway on Zenith. Member Shaffer commented that he lives in the area and believes the proposal would be a good fit in the neighborhood. MOVED by Sell, seconded by Lang and motion carried unanimously to approve the variances as stated above. III. Other Business A. Letter from Gerald and Frida Mindrum (receive and file) regarding a garage located west of their property at 4022 Wayzata Blvd. that received a variance for a garage addition into the side yard setback in March of 1999. Minutes of the Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting November 23, 1999 Page 2 1708 Dold commented that she had talked with the Inspections Department regarding the newly e constructed garage on the property next to the Mindrum's. A Building Official from the City did visit the site and found the garage to have a normal roofline. The Building Official did not find it to be a two-story structure. Staff also visited the site and did not find it to be out of character for a single-story garage. Shaffer said the Board does look at the height of proposed garages during the review process. Polachek suggested that because this is a new structure on the lot, the Mindrum's may need to get accustomed to having a two-stall garage on the property next to their lot. The Chair received and filed the letter from the Mindrum's dated November 2, 1999. B. Reschedule December Meeting Date Dold suggested that the Board may want to reschedule its December 28, 1999 regular meeting to the week before Christmas. Dold commented that if any applications were received by the due date of December 7,1999, it would still be possible to send out the appropriate hearing notices in a timely manner.
