Valley Planni�.g Commission wms . called to order at the Village �3a11 at 7:30 P. M. The follow- ing members �rere present: W. A. Moes R. 1ni. Todd H. Lynch. M. K. Patterson S. Erickson C. Gra�'funder ' E. T. Rydell G. Loughland C. Rydmark The meeting was called to order and the roll was taken. In the absence oz" the secretary the president appointed H. Lyneh as aGtin� secretar� for the meetin�. Letter of June 28 from the administrative assistant was read in which i� was stated that the Cotzncil referred back to the � Planning Cornmission f'or their fu.rther stu.dy the matter of the proposed cons�ruction of multiple dwell�ngs on the proposed Znd Addition to Spring Green and on wl�ich the Commission had previously acted on at its June 14 meetin.g. The refer�l was made for further study 3n li�h�t of the program now under way � ,. by the Comtni.ssion in modernizing the buildin� ord3nances of the Village. The Com�n.ission gave furth�r study to recommendations made by its ordinance corr�.ittee in a report dated May� 10 in view of ',j �re matter referred to it by the Council that several pertinent 'I recor�lmen.da�ions be submitted by Jul� 3 for considerat3on by the � Council at �its meeting on that date. Considerable d5�scussion centered on the problem of draining the area of surface waters, sanitar�r drainage, structural requirements of iche buildings °! and other factors. Lynch sug�ested that mul.tiple dwellings be co�.fined to Cornmunity Store districts. Council the wi�ldor� of acting ir�lmedi�tel�' on the Commissio�.s ' recommendations of May 10 pertaining to amendments to the building code and. in addition to said recor�amendations that the following amendments be made to t�e zoning ordir_ance: � l. In Section 3 (d) change the figure from 10,000 to 12,�00 j sq. ft. , and place a period after i:he word. "building" and ' eliminate the remainder of the sentence. 2.. Discussion was held on the need for holding sr�ecial meetings to go over the ordinance comr�ttee recoirmiendations for re- visions to the zoning and building ordinances.
