A regular mee�ing of the Planning Cflmmiss3o� of Goldcn Va11ey wa,s held �n
�etober 13, �955 �� 8:0o F.M. at the Viliage Ha11. The followi�.g members �ere
present: Hanson, Kost, Raughlarid, Peterson, LaBfsson3ere, E�a3.d, Lynch,
Putr�azn, Engineer Ogard amd �i,e Village Aam.3nistrator, Mr. Owens.
Mr. Raughland proposed � ad�journmeat gt 11a00 P.M. of Pl�nni�.g Comm3ssion -
meetings witls an ad�jc�urned meeting to b2 h�,1d the following 'l�ursday for
any unfinished busfness. Th3� was approved by the members preser�t. 's
The minu�es of the pre�vious meeting were read and approved.
Pa�oposed Dra�€t of Proffesio�ial and Business Offfae Distr3�t:

Messrs Fatterson, Loughland and Borchert a��d said draft. Mr. Kost
proposed acceptance o£ the draft. Mr. Frec]. A�.bert, 516 Clover Lane, spoke
3.n reference to the draft. Mr. Albert recommended the height of buildings
be reduced to one-story, also that surrovnding residents of any area in
question shouZd be notified. Mr. 04,rens stated that residents, in any
area where tfie�e may be opposition are notif3ed by the Village by plac3ng
a notice in the mailbox of the peaple who might be interested. Mr. Owens
also brought up the question o�f Glenwood Hi11s Clinic building, t�hich
should also be included in this �iew ��use�� district. Mr. Kost moved that
the proposed draft, to amend the zoning ordinance, be amendefl to establish
a new 'tuse�� district by referring to the Council for acceptance with the
follawing provision:
That the a.rea �rest of the drivew�.y to Glenwood Hi11s Hospital, south
of Golden Va11ey Road and north of the outlet of Sweeney Lake be 3ncluded �
in the adoption of the new "use�� district. Mr. Lynch seconded the motion
and it carried.
Waldzon Drugs Land in question, 53 feet North of Golden Valley Heating.
A proposal w°as svbmitted to build thirty feet on to present building of
Golden Va11ey Heating for Waldron�s Drug Store. Nlr. Lynch proposed that
the O�dina.nce Committee be empowered to pass on this requ¢st. The motion
Ua�.s seconded by Mr. LaBissoniere and passed.
Mary Hi11s:=
Mary Hills consists of foua� owners; Sweeney, Olson, Biesang and the
Mormon Chusch. Golden Va11ey Road has been shifted at various times
so it is difficult to locate Golden Va11ey Road lines. Mr. Nason af
More11 and Nichols gave �:;is�vepsfon of a study of Go2den Va11ey Road
boundaries. There has been three relocations of Go1d¢n Valley Road over
the past fifty';yreaxs. This changes the lot sizes of Mary Hills lots
from the original plat proposal. Nir. P. B. 01son stated that the ne�r �
�ridge ha,s changed the situation so tha.t about fifty feet along Golden
Va11ey R�ad uri1Z revert to his frontage. Mr. Nason aske�3 permission
to deviate the road so that he will have a minimum o�' 125 .�eet dzpth.
Mr. McBride (Mormon Church) wants some changes in hi��. sec�.ion os" the
proposed p1at. Mr. LaBissoniere moved that cha.nges in Max�y Hills

preliminary plat be approved, providing a11 p].at and road requirements are �
met. These changes were necessaxy due to the relocation of Golden Va11ey
Road. The motion �ra.s seconded by Mr. Ewald, and caxried.
Fred Jones Plats
Mr. LaDiSSOniere rec:ommended changes for preliminary approval of said plat.
Fo1l.owing are the suggested revisions;
1. T'h.at 1ot lines bet�reen 5 & 6, B1ock 1, Lots 1 & � an.a 6, 7, as�.d 8,
B1o�k 2 be realligned to right angles with �h.eir front streets;
� 2. That so called Colorado Avenue b.s grven some ather name;
3. That so called Colfl�ado Avenue be moved in an easterly directinn
to permit a swuare footage of 12,500 for iots 6 & 7, B1ock 3 with a mi�.i-
mvm depth of 125 feet;
J�. That so called Colorado Avenue be reduced to 50 foot width if
nec�ssary.
5• That�so h line of Lot 5, Block 3, be reduced to a minimtua o�'
111 feet in . (The 111 foot reductior� on Lot 5, B1ock 3, is allo�red
0 on account of an existing sttuctvre on Lot 5, H1ock 2.) The motion was
seconded by Nir. Lynch, and it �arried.
Edw�rd White P1at: -
$2r. White app�ared before the Planning Commission in his behalf. LaBissoniere
movcd that the White Plat be re-submitted to the Plat Committee. The motion
was seconded by E�rald, ancl it carriecl.
� Robert Breni�y:
Mr. Robert Brenny appeared before the Planning Commission in regasds to
Lot 1, B1ock 2, Schuller►s Addition. Mr. Hanson reparted for the Ordinance
Committee. Mr. Hanson reeommended that a w�a.iver be grarited Mr. Brenny for
a foundation now in place. The motion �ra.s seconded by Nfr. Lynch, and it
carried. .
Larry S�ranson, Waivers
� 1�. Hanson reported for the committee. Mr. Hanson zaoved that an a1lo�rance
be made for a 30 foot setback. LaBissoniere seco�ded the motion, carried.
(The reason for the setback of 30 feet .is to allo�a �'or a 10 foot yard to
the south of the house in place o� a 5 foot.)
Dr. Shimek:
Mr. Thorshov, of Thorshov and Cerny, presented a plan which would sa�isfy
previous ob;jections to a praposed residence on the area south of Dr. Sh3mek�s
residence on Ottawa Avernie. Hanson moved that the request be granted.
The motion was seconded by Kost, and ca.rried.
Thode-Hsyd� Property:
Mr. �Iooty represented �Y�� �hode�e r�roperty. In view of the intended
recommendations of the Planning Committee to establish 100 foot width

for Boone Avenue between �ayzata Blvd. and T. H. #55• A 50 foot dedic�tion
would be required from Thode-Hyde along the east 5ide of the T`hode-Hyde
property. Also, the 100 foot street from Wayzata Blvd, known as F1ag Aven�e,
extended to the North section line. It is the intention that the two described
streets shail extend in a northerly direction to T. H. #55 on a 100 foot basis.
The east-�est street �hich straddles the section 1ine, which is the north
boundary of General M311s property, be dedicated as s 100 foot street on �n �
equal basis to ad�oining property owners, from County Road l8 to the Brookview '
Golf Course. It is the intention that this street shall continue in a easterly �
direction to Winnetka Avenue on a 100 foot basis. Lynch moved for adoption
of this �f this proposal. t�ratnam. seconded the motion, and it carr3ed.
Mr. Dietrich of Dietrich Construction Company:
Mr. Dietrich requested for a waiver for the southwest corner of Golden Valley
Road and Spring Va11ey Road. This matter was referred to the Ordin�ce
Committee.
