10-11-67 PC Minutes 9 �_ REGULAR MEETING OF THE / GOLDEN VALLEY PLANNING COMMISSION October ll,lg67 A regular meeting of the Golden Valley Planning Commission was held Wednesday, October 11,1967, at 7 : 30 p.m. at the Golden Valley Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, Minnesota. President Senstad presided and the following members were present : Bruch, Swedberg, Pennock, Swanson, Anderson, Johnston, Carlson, Daly, Jensen, Hoover, Silverman. Absent : Raugland, Rranzen, Christiansen, Brown, Velz . Also present : Schmid, Jordahl. APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOVED, seconded, unanirnously carried to approve the September 14,1967 minutes . ZONING - No Items PLAT - No Items ORDINANCE/LONG RANGE A. Platting Ordinance The Committee was unanimously in favor of the proposed ordinance as revised, but requests that the full Planning Commissior� delay any final action until a copy of the Ordinance is in hand. This will be accomplished before the next Commission meetingin Nov. B. Sec .7.04 of the Zoning Code-Setback for TH 100 and T H 55 Committee member Swanson read the following report : "A report was given to the Committee by the Planner explaining the memo he sent concerning setbacks from ma,jor highways in Golden Valley. It was pointed out that the setbacks from T H 100 were not exactly consistant with the Code as far as Commercial Industrial property is concerned. Generally, the Committee was in agreemet that the Ordinance should be amended. A motion was made to recommend the following revision to Sec . 7. 04 regarding setbacks off of ma�jor highways. The motion carried unanimously. "In any Commereial, Light Industrial or Industrial Zoning Districts abutting TH 100, TH 55, TH 12 or Co. Rd. 18, the building setback shall be 100 feet as measu�ed from the property line abutting said highways. " MOVED, seconded, unanimously carried to send this item back to the Committee for further study. C. Proposed Addition to Zoning Code-Residential Foster Homes The Committee, in reviewing the proposed addition to the Code feels strongly that further study is in order. The Committee also wants the Village Attorney's opinion on the possibility of licensing these homes as opposed to c�eating an Ordinance especially for Foster Homes . The Committee wishes to study the problem, if indeed a problem exists, further, before making any recommendation on possible additions to the Village Co�3es and Ordinances. � � Golden Valley Planning Commission Minutes 10-11-67 Page 2 D. Outlot 1, Lamplighter Estates This matter will be deferred to the November meeting. E. Waiver of Platting Regulations Part of Outlot 1, Tyree Addition (14) MOVED, seconded, unanimously carried to approve the Metes & Bounds described property division in Tyree Addition, Outlot l. The purpose of this transfer. would be for additional ponc�in� area for the Villag;e . Part of Lot 65, Auditors Subdivision No 322 (17) MOVED, seconded, unan3mously carried to approve the Lot division of the north part of Lot 65, Aud. Subdivision No. 322 Part of Lots $ & 9, Block l, Golden Valley Gardens (�) Continued to the November meeting. � Lots 7,8, Block 2, Valwood 2nd Addition (15) Lots 10 & 11, Block 2, Valwood Addition MOVED, seconded, unanimously carried to appro�e the proposed divisions in Valwood Addition and Valwood 2nd Addition, because it was an upgrading situation.
