Mark Grimes stated to the Commissioners that Mayor Anderson felt that the corridor was very important to Golden Valley and that it is the south gateway to the City and that the City Council is looking at vision planning for the City. In reviewing the maps, one key issue was the recurring pattern of small lots with limited use capacity. Another issue was the sometimes jumbled variety of uses. Staff and Planning Commission discussed different ideas for the I-394 corridor i.e., would like to see clustered uniform buildings on single, large lots vs broken-up different size businesses on individual small lots, look at green space for planting, different standards across from residential setting or at the major interchanges.
