RECREATION COMMISSIONS — COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE
11. CALL TO ORDER OF THE OPEN SPACE AND RECREATION COMMISSION
Sandler called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
111. ROLL CALL
Present: Roger Bergman, Jim Johnson, Kelly Kuebelbeck, Anne Saffert, Jerry Sandler, Jim Vaughan, Rick
Jacobson, Director of Parks and Recreation; Kris Tovson, Brookview Golf Course Manager; Sheila
Van Sloun, Park and Recreation Administrative Assistant; and Veronica Anderson, SEH
Consultants, Inc.
Absent: Bob Mattison, Roger McConico and Tom Zins.
IV. AGENDA CHANGES OR ADDITIONS
No changes made.
V. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — July 23, 2007 and August 6, 2007
MOTION: Moved by Saffert and seconded by Bergman to approve the July 23`d meeting minutes. Motion
carried unanimously.
MOTION: Moved by Johnson and seconded by Kuebelbeck to approve the August 60' meeting minutes.
Motion carried unanimously.
VI. BROOKVIEW GOLF UPDATE
Tovson said the course opened April 9h.
She said participation was up in the Adult Group Golf Lessons from last year. She also said that 150 youth
participated in the Junior Golf League and the implementation of Family Sunday's has generated 575
participants.
Tovson then gave details on changes for the 2008 season.
She explained in an effort to increase profit and eliminate an increase in food prices, Tovson has proposed
adding sales tax on all food and beverage sold at the Brookview Grill. She explained that by doing so, revenue
could increase up to $15,000 next year.

Tovson also explained in an effort to generate more junior players, a new junior green fee will be established
for the 2008 season.
She added that in 2008, the Senior Golf League may play on the regulation course in addition to the par 3.
Tovson said she is also proposing simplifying green fee rates. She recommends combining the resident/non-
resident rates, thus having only one patron rate.
MOTION: Moved by Vaughan and seconded by Bergman to approve the proposed changes for 2008.
Motion carried unanimously.
Johnson complimented Tovson and her staff for doing such an outstanding job with the operation of
Brookview Golf course. The Commission concurred.
VII. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REVIEW
The Commission continued reviewing the Comprehensive Plan and made necessary changes and updates,
which will be reflected in an updated version.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Moved by Bergman and seconded by Kuebelbeck to adjourn at 9:20 p.m. Motion carried
unanimously.
