7-21-1948MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
PARK BOARD
VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY
July 21, 1948
The Park Board of the Village of Golden Valley met in special meeting
at the Village Hall at 4:00 P.M. on July 21. In attendance were:
Mrs. Seeman, Mr. Noes, and Mr. Pinch, Trustee of the Council.
Belmont Park area was visited and Mr. Dhainin, Minneapolis Park Board
Engineer, made many helpful suggestions and approved the tentative
plans of the Park Board, such as: a softball diamond in the south-
west corner; children's playgrcund equipment in the northwest corner;
and a skating area in the northeast corner. He sugvested that the
area should be drained with tile before grading if financially possible,
as it would be cheaper in the long run.
The group also visited Twenty Acres, and Mr. Dhainin suggested that
it w as especially suitable for a large baseball diamond because of
the sparsely settled neighborhood.
Mr. Dhainin offered the continued cooperation and advice of members
of -the Minneapolis Park Board whenever needed.
Meeting adjourned at 6:00 P.M.
