PARK BOARD
VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY
December 10, 1948
The Park Board of the Village of Golden Valley met in regular meeting
at the Village Hall at 8:00 p.m. on December 10, 1948. In attendance
were: Mrs. Seeman, Mr. Moes, and Mrs. Arms.
The reading of the minutes of August 11, September 8, and October 13
were approved as read.
The Secretary was directed. to write a letter of thanks to Mr. Ainsworth
and the County Commissioners for the use of a bulldozer for grading
Belmont Park and the twenty acres on Harold Avenue.
The Secretary was also directed to write a letter to Mr. Sleavin,
Golden Valley Commercial Club, thanking them for commitment of '300
which they plan to use for the purchase of permanent playground equip-
ment for Belmont Park.
Mr. Gustafson, a resident of Belmont Park area, offered his cooperation
in operation of ice skatin6 facilities at Belmont Park. The Board
accepted his offer to f urnish shovel, scrapers, and lights, and to form
a club of residents for operation and supervision of the rink.
The Secretary was directed to write the 11inneapolis Park Board about
where to buy playground equipment and also to find out i_' the Park Board
is liable for accidents on skating rinks or playgrounds.
The Secretary was directed to obtain a budget statement of this Board
for the year 1948. That statement is attached to and made a part of
these minutes.
