MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
PARK BOARD
VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY
September 14, 1949.
The Park Board of the Village of Golden Valley met for
their regular monthly meeting at the Village Hall at
8:00 p.m. on September 14, 1949. The meeting was at- ROLL CALL
tended by Mr. NToes, President, Mrs. Arms, Vice -President,
and Mr. Boyer, Secretary.
Minutes of the August 10 meeting were read and approved. MINUTES
Mr. Boyer, Secretary, advised the Board that the Village EQUIPMENT
road crew had completed installation of playground equip- INSTALLED
ment at Belmont Park.
Mrs. Arms offered to contact a stamp and stencil company
and order a bronze plaque with the inscription, "This PLAQUE FOR
playground equipment was donated by the Golden Valley PLAYGROUND
Commercial Club, 1949." Prices will be quoted and the EQUIPMENT
plate will be purchased and mounted on the equipment.
Mrs. Arms also suggested another meeting with the Hoyt
Nursery man for final agreement on the changes suggested MEETING .NITH
and for presenting our order for the trees and shrubs HOYT NURSERY
for BelmontPark after changes had been made by the Park
Board.
Meeting was adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
Secretary.
The September 14 meeting was attended by a committee
representing the Golden Valley Garden Club consisting of
Mrs. Paul Seeman, Mrs. Clarence Tolg, and one other mem-
ber. This committee offered to help in the planting of
shrubs and trees at Belmont Park by offering lilac bushes

and elm trees free for the digging. This was considered

and it was finally agreed that the cost of labor for re-

moving these elm trees and lilac bushes, plus the cost

of the black dirt it would be necessary to purchase,
would be practically thesame as buying the trees and
shrubs and having them set out by Hoyt Nurseries.
Mrs. Arms presented:a special tree planting layout for

Belmont Park offered by Hoyt Nursery of St. Paul. The
