MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
PARK BOARD
Village of Golden Valley
July - 1955
On July 13Y 1955 the Golden Valley Park Board met in regular session. Present were
Stockman, Gustafson and Ostroot.
GOLDEN VALLEY GARDEN CLUB - Representatives of the Golden Valley Garden Club,
Mrs. $ies and Mrs. Schaub, attended the meeting and requested that one of the Golden
Valley parks be named to honor Dors. Lillian Seaman. They also stated that the Garden
Club had approximately $135.00 that they would like to use to erect the memorial in
this park.in honor of Mrs. Seaman, and suggested the possibility of an ornate drink-
ing fountain.
MEDICINE LAKE - Representatives of the Tiedicine Lake Boy -Scout Troop #211 were present
to discuss the possibility of their troop doing some of the work in clearing the
brush in Harold Park, possibly in connection with the troop from Calvary Lutlieran
Church in Golden Valley.
GLENVIEW TERRACE - Mr. R. T. Nest requested various improvements for Glenview Terrace
in behalf of the residents of the neighborhood.
MSC that BEUTONT PARK be named in honor of Lillian Seaman.
MSC that HAROLD AVENUE PARK be named in honor of the Lion's Club.
BELMONT PARK - It has been declared that foul -line posts need be erected.
PAPOOSE - The well has been completed so the village engineer has been requested to
complete the grading of the park. Also, Northern States Power Company has been
contacted to provide connections for the pump.
HAROLD PARK - Grading has been completed insofar as the present operations will
allow. Additional sums have been requested for the completion for the use of
the fill made available by the adjoining residents.
GLEPVI n TERRACE - The Minneapolis Uaf�e PioqF& will be contacted in an attempt to
secure permission to install a volley -ball court.
The next regular meeting will be held on August 10, 1955.
