11-9-19551.71 MIT\MTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PARK BOARD Village of Golden Valley November — 1955 On November 9, 1955, the Golden Valley Park Toard met in regular session in the council chambers of the Village Hall. Present were Stockman, Gustafson and Ostroot. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. NSC that the play area in Block 1, Delphian Heights,which is Park Property, be graded, seeddd and turned over to the adjacent neighbors for maintenance, as per their letter of agreement with the Park Board. This work is scheduled to be done as soon as weather permits in the Spring. LILLIAP, SEAJ,:Pl; PARK — The merry—;o—round has been restored to use by member Gustafson. The skating rink is reader for flooding and frill be maintained this year but we will not provide a lrjarming—house due to the severe abuse and misuse of the warming—house last year and the fact that there have been no requests for a warming—house at this park. LICIS CLUF PARK: The possibility of finishing the trading, especially of the ball— dianond, was discussed in the hopes that it might be done this Fall, allowing the Lill to settle through the ??inter. This item will be taken up with the Village authorities. The lack of water in the Park Pond was noted and the need of finding a supply for flooding the rink was discussed. The possibility of using sandpoints for a temporary supply will be explored. NATCHEZ PARK — ?ale have had no word from the neighborhood group concerning construction of a skating rink for this season. The rink that was flooded last ;rear was levelled when we sodded that section of the park and installed playground equipment. It should be noted that the pond in the neighborhood has always been plowed and used for skating. PAPOOSE PARK — The skating rink is graded and ready for flooding. fl word of cormendation is due the Village Engineer Norris Og;ard and his crew for setting the grade at the new level. We also wish to express our appreciation to the road crew for the excellent job of grading under difficult circumstances. T.IuCh credit is due Arno Denzin for this work. The Village Electrical Inspector Martin Paquette has volunteered his services in Tiring and obtaining; the necessary equipment and supplies at no cost or at wholesale to connect the pump. A 20 foot post is to be placed adjacent to the well for meter and switch installation for temporary power service until the Noble Grove Association is able to complete the warming; house as agreed upon at our September meeting. SCHEID PARK — Mr. Sc.ieid has pulled his pipe and points from the Park so no water is available this winter for a skating; rink. President Stockman has contacted a supplier who a -reed to supply replacement points for our use. Pipe will be purchased and connected to provide water for floodin_, the rink this Yknter.
