PdiINUTES OF THE REGULAR ]MEETING
PARK BOARD
Village of Golden Val -ley
June - 1956
On June 13, 1956 the Golden Valley Park Board met in regular
session in the council chambers of the village hall. Present
were Stockmian, Gustafson and Ostroot.
11inutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
rustafson reported that Crowley Fence Company had repaired the
teeter-totter and slide satisfactorily but that the back -stop
still neede-1 attention to protect the players. Crowley will be
asked to come back and cover or otherwise protect the sharp
wires protruding at the center of the back -stop, in Lillian Seeman.
The sod in Lillian Seeman Park has been well-layed but now is
in dire need of water; our pump is available but we lack the,
man -power to operate the p.amp. It is our understanding that
the council authorized a man to be on the village crew and that
he be assigned to this detail and other work in the parks as he
is needed. The council will be contacted and an audience requested
at an early meeting to determine the possibility of getting park
work done as needed.
The sodding in Lions Club Park has been held up due to unfavorable
weather but they promise to complete the diamond as soon as it is
possible.
The possibility of securing a park survey for the village to try
to evaluate the problem and the future needs of the village that
will make it possible to secure needed lands now or very soon and
provide adequate parks for the future generations has been looked
into and we expect to have a preliminary report and estimate of
cost to present to the council when we are granted an audience.
The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 17th, 1956.
.Meeting adjourned.
