3-11-1957Minutes of Special Meeting
PARK BOARD
Village of rrolden Vlley, 11a.r. 11, 1957.
special meeting of the ark Board of the Village was called by the
President, at 219 Foshay ower. Present were Ostroot, Stockman,
Chapman, and Robt Corwine landscape architect.
The Board revi&geed and discussed cost allotments anew, it being suggested
by at least one member that the 400,000 figure in the survey was
too ambitious for successful realization at this time, but that a more
realistic approach to the present needs, limited to acquisition largely
at this time, should be considered, to reduce the request for the bond
issue. The board unanimously agreed, and upon careful study and
revision trimmed the immediate demands for the survey down to $290,000,
deferf ing any consequential development, and concentrating on
estimated acquisition at current prices in areas generally identified
but not specifically described or {"ixed. These were contrasted with
Minnear.olis figures and particularly Sister Kenny, Waite Park, McRae
and Armatage areas, and also others, and with St. Louis Park
prices. It was considered that perhaps some additi nal may be deleted.
Discussion was had concerning the presenta 'V
ooh Planning Comm'n.
