SPECIAL MET"r ING OF PARK BOARD
Village of Golden Valley, Apr. 2, 1957
The Park Board met at the call of the President at a special mee#ing
at the Arcade in the Roadoke Bldgi, at 7:30 a.m. on April 21 1957.
It was concluded to furnish the 3 archery sets requested by the Golden
Valley S.R.A. thro Mr. Van Hauer its official, and that these be acquired
at a discount for Lion's Park.
It was decided that pamphlets which were beim proposed to be mailed
out be mailed only to villagers.
Meetings with public groups were discussed, PTA, ehurches, civic
groups, Jr. Chaipber, Lions, Eegion, etc.
Distribution of the Plan & Survey was discussed, and it was agreed to
make same available to all village officials, and to I4r. Doell and Mr.
Dhainin, and others as interested. Chapman was directed to learn
the location of the Mpls property condidered for cooperative action
as once suggested by Doell and Dhainin.
On motion, duly made, seconded and carried, the bill for Amundsen
Letter Service for 3139.75 for 200 copies of survey be approved for
payment, and also the Litho Art bill for '92 for 200 sets of 12 map
plates and 200 covers for the Survey, also Jensen Prt,g Co 4`74.50 mailing.
On motion. of Stockman, seconded by Ostroot, with majority voting in
favor thereof, it was resolved that a park maintenance man be hired
to be supervised by Arne Denzin in looking after thec are and
maintenance of the parks, and to do the work.
Stockman agreed to attend the Noble PTA meeting or, behalf of the Parks
with Corwine presenting the Survey, on April 9.
Chapman agreed to attend the Glenview T rrace rear n Club with
Corwine for informational purpo he��;o

REGUAR MEET INS OF PARK BOARD
Village of Golden Valley Apr. 23, 1957
The regular meeting of the Park B� rd was adjourned to 219 Foshay Tower,
at 4 P.M. on Apr. 23, 1957 asd as so adjourned was so held. Present were
Ostroot, Stockman, Chapman and Robt 6orwine, architect. Stockman
proposed that proposal be secured as to price and offset art work for a
letterhead from Phelps Co. It was anreed to ask for such submittal.
Correspendence of Apr. 15, 1957 to Ostroot was noted and filed, being a
letter from Admr. Owens. Also copies of letters to Stockman from Owens
dated Apr. 18, 1957 regarding the Jensen mailing bill of ,74.50 were
noted and filed, +he village refusing to pay same. It was concluded to
seek further opinion on the questionsinvolved. Robert Corwine reported
on his activities and work. Ostroot reported that Apr 11, 1557 letter
from Owens agreed to the hire of Peter Spurzem and truck on terms therein.
However, Ostrnot stated Spurzem was not available now, and could not be
hired; that a man without truck was available to Denzin, and it was
accordincly condluded that Ostroot notify Denzin to do the best he can
using village equipmen if possible on suitabl ms unt' .a man with
truck or a truck co be hired or secured .
