8-26-1957MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
PARR BOARD
Village of Golden Valley
Aug. 26, 1957 12 Noon
The Park Board met in a special meeting at the call of the President
on August 26, 1957 at 12 noon at 11th & Marquette at a lunch meeting.
Present were Chairman Ostroot, Stockman, Chapman and Mr Corwin , the
planning architect.
The meeting was called to discuss the presentation made by the Park
Board to the Village Council on August 20 of the options for the
Sheid property additions, the council at that time having appointed
a committee to meet with the Sheids to consider a new option extendinr
the purchase time. The counil at that meetine had also granted a
Board request to authorize hiring Mr Corwine at $175 per month, as a
consultant. President Ostroot reported on the meeting with the Sheids
at which he, Councilman Teresi and a member of the Planning '-o.mission
attended, resulting in an alternative to the present options, of
extending beyond Sept 1 to Dec 15, 1957 the purchase of the properties
offered by the Sheid family for an additional option price of $1500,
if the Sept 1 payment and contract were not carried out.
These alternative proposals were discussed and it was the feeling of
the Park Board that if an earnest money or purchase contract for deed
or other contract for purchase could be legally effected, that the
present options with payment of $485 on Sept 11 balance in Feb 1958
should be urged as the prefafred proposal to the village Council at
the meeting on August 27. The alternative propisal should also be
presented to the Council of a $1500 option to December 15, 1957, but
requesting approval of the former as preferrable in the consideration
of the Park Board.

Board as taken from the statutes as amended, and on action duly made
seconded and adopted he was instructed to insect a copy of the Laws

prepared by the board with the assistance of Mr Corwine was presented
by Mr Corwine for consideration, and upon motion duly made seconded
and carried it w4s adopted as the proposed budget of the Park Board for
1958 with instructions to be presented to the Village Council at the
Aurust 27 meeting, and a copy to be inserted in the minute book.
