9-27-1957MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING
OF PARK BOARD OF VILLAGE
OF GOLDEN VALLEY
Sept. 27, 1957
The Park Board met in a special meeting at the call of the President
on Sept. 27, 1957, at 11:30 A.M., at the office of Mr. T. G. Evenson
in the 1st Natl Soo Line Bldg. Present were Ostroot, Chapman, and
Bob Corwine, also Mr. T. G. Evenson. Absent, Stockman.
Mr. Evenson discussed in an informative manner the bond situation
In the village, stating it had a very good record. He reviewed the
two types of bond issues, and in his opinion felt a revenue bond
would be difficult of sale. However, pledging revenues first to
retire general obligation bonds was acceptable.
His general opinion seemed to coincide with planners that area and
space were needed in suburbs for acquisition now, while available,
but he had some questions about public purpose requirements being
satisfied if a golf course as such were sought under condmenation.
Purchase would not perhaps have such stringent requirements, but it
presented legal questions.
Mr. Evenson offered the help and advice of his office v y generously
and the meeting adjourned.
