PARK BOARD OF
Village of Golden Valley
December 19, 1957 8:00 P.M.
The Park Board of the Village of Golden Valley met at its regular
monthly meeting at the temporary Village Hall, Thursday,
December 19, 1957, at 8:00 P.M. Present were Ostroot, Stockman
and Consultant Bob Corwine. Mr. John Byrnes accepted the appoint-
ment to the Park Board. It was a pleasure to welcome Mr. Byrnes.
The Park Board received a letter from Ray Sheehan, Delphian Heights,
concerning the condition of the Park Equipment in his area.
Arnie Denzin will investigate, and make repairs. If necessary,
Crowley Fence will be contacted to do the work.
Skating Rinks:
1.
Lions Club Park has been enlarged into what might be con-
sidered three areas.
2.
Lillian Seaman Park has been enlarged, and will have two
rinks. Denzin and Corwine will determine if outdoor
lighting would be practical. Motion to use three 150 watt
resector bulbs and fixtures. Motion passed.
3.
Golden Valley High School rink has been flooded, and will
need more work when the weather permits. Lights have been
ordered.
4.
On Don Wilson's request for help on his own rink, Denzin
will check and advise.
Bids on
Hockey Rink Boards to be used in Lions Club Park:
Material - Thompson Lumber Company $497.95
Suburban Lumber Company $468.00
Construction - ABC Cabinet & Woodwork Shop $795.00
Nelson & Johnson Cabinet, Inc. $485.00
Motion to accept Suburban Lumber Company's bid on lumber passed.
Motion to accept Nelson & Johnson Cabinet, Inc. on construction
passed. Motion that the Park Board would pay the additional cost
above the $1,000. donated by the Lions Club for construction of the
hockey rinks 'Pc.s;ec_'
Warming House at Lions Club Park:
Estimated $180.00 of damage
Estimated $400.00 material
Estimated $200.00 labor
Motion made and passed to make necessary repairs.
Motion made and passed to execute Contract for Deed of Schied Park
property as soon as money is available.
Motion to appoint Mert Dresser to be chairman of committee to study
the possibilities of Brookview Golf Course. Motion passed.
Motion made to pay Arnie Denzin $°p75.00 per month for supervisional
work passed.

It was suggested that we contact John Ferguson and Dr. Ray Peterson
concerning chairmanship of the Bond Issue Citizen's Committee.
It was suggested -that Stan Anderson and Bob Van Hauer of the S-. R. A.
be asked to our next meeting.
