The Park and Recreation Commission of the Village of Golden Valley met at its
regular monthly meeting at the Village Hall, Wednesday, December 21, at 7:00
po11. Present were Stockman, Byrnes., Petersen, Green, Scheffler, Ulstad and
Reed.
The minutes of the previous meeting ,rere approved.
CARL SANDBERC SC710OL:
Finks - There has been trouble finding an area for free skating at Sandberg Jr.
High School. The School would not okeh the most logical area, and the area sug-
gested by the School is of boo steep a _grade to hold viater.
Lights - The installation of lights at this School is not complete as of this
date. The poles are available, but the electricians are holding up completion.
The Commission held a general discussion on Sandberg School, and it was suggested
that a delegation from the Commission meet with the School Board of District 281 to
discuss viorking agreements.
RECRN,ATION: Mr. Reed reported that 75 children are participating in the regular
Hockey Program headed by Don Vaia. - Mr. Reed stated that Miller Hockey shirts
vro rth 522.00 each may be purchased for p6.00 each. Dr. Petersen made a motion
that we purchase 14 I,.iller Hockey shirts at X6.00 each for a total of 684.00.
The motion was seconded and carried.. Ur. Reed reported that 300 boys at 4
locations are participating in the Basketball Prof7ram, and that there will be
competition between the schools at the different locations.

It was suggested that 114r. Ulstad screen these applications, select 4 from among
them. to be considered by the Commission, and arrange a Saturday meeting between
the Commission and the 4 applicants. The date of this meeting will be
determined by ;sir. Ulstad.
There being no further business, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting and
the motion was seconded and carried.
