Minutes of the Regular Monthly Meeting
PARK AND RECREATION COP'MISSION OF
VILLAGE OF GOLDEN VALLEY
April 16th 7:00 P.M.
The Park and Recreation Commission of the Village of Golden Valley met
at its regular monthly meeting at the Village Hall, Thursday, April 7.6,
1964, at 7:00 P.M. Board members present: John Sullivan, Chairman,
Raymond Petersen and Stanley Anderson. Board members absent: John
Byrnes, Laura Scheffler, Graydon Ewald and Elroy Roelke. Also present:
John L. Brenna, Director.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Sullivan. The
minutes from the February 13th, 1964 meeting were then called for approval.
Raymond Petersen moved they be approved. Stanley Anderson seconded. The
minutes were approved as written.
DUTCH ELMPROGRESS REPORT
Mr. Brenna related the progress of the Dutch Elm Committee. The seven
Scout Troops that conducted the Elm Survey have finished their count. Mr.
Brenna mentioned that the Committee will meet Monday, April 20th and start
formulating their recommendations to the Village Council.
R -,COMMENDATIONS FOR SUM111ER HELP
At this time Mr. Brenna brought forth his recommendations for help needed
in the Park and Recreation Department for summer, 1961. Dr. Petersen
moved that the recommendations be accepted in whole and Stanley Anderson
seconded. The motion carried.
SCHEID PARK
Mr. Brenna talked briefly about the meeting held last week with the
residents from the Scheid Park area. Mr. Brenna mentioned that he would
contact Mr. Sam Fisher, Hennepin County Traffic Engineer, and have him
present at our next meeting, May 21st, to explain what might be done.
regarding north -south access crossing C.S.A.H. 66 to Scheid Park.
There being no further business, Raymond Petersen moved the meeting
adjourn. Stanley Anderson seconded. The meeting adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
