August 27, 1964 7:00 p.m,
The Park and Recreation Commission of the Village of Golden Valley
met at its regular monthly meeting at the Village Hall, Thursday,
August 27, 1964 at 7:00 p.m. Board members present: John H.
Sullivan, Chairman, Dr. Raymond Petersen, and Elroy Roelke.
Members absent: Stanley Anderson, John Byrnes, Graydon Ewald,
and Laura Scheffler. Also present, Mr. John L. Brenna, Director.
A quorum was not present, therefore no official business was
conducted.
PARK DEVELOPMENT
Mr. Brenna discussed progress to date. He also added that construc-
tion monies would be exhausted by late fall. In talking with Mr.
Ulstad, who in turn talked with the Village Council about addi-
tional monies for next year, it seemed the consensus, that none
would be available. Therefore, Mr. Ulstad suggested we begin
thinking in terms of a bond issue.
Mr. Brenna mentioned that all available information, as to monies
needed for the completion of the Park system would be available
in about a week. Mr, John Sullivan suggested a special meeting
be called for on September 10, at which time we could discuss
the matter more fully.
