REJGULAR MEETING OF THE GOLDEN VALLEY PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION August 31, 1967 A regular meeting of the Golden Valley Park & Recreation Commission was held on Thursday, August 31, 1967, at 7:00 p.m. at the Golden Valley Civic Center, 7800 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, Minnesota. Chairman Roelke presided and the following members were present: Anderson, Oukrop, Peterse, Byrnes. Member absent: Sullivan. Also present were: John Brenna, Director; Phyllis Jordahl, secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOVED, seconded and unanimously carried to approve the minutes of August 3 and August 14,1967. SCHEID PARK BRIDGE Mr. Brenna discussed the happenings of his meeting with the Hennepin County Administration relative to a pedestrian bridge of Scheid Park. The jest of the Highway Administrator and his staff's recommendation was the County should not participate in the construction of said bridge. After a lengthy discussi%©n::i;t was the recommendation of the Park & Recreation Commission that the Golden Valley Village Council make a formal request to the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners for some help regarding participation in the construction of a Pedes- trian Bridge over CSAH 66. 3 MILL CONSTRUCTION LEVY Mr. Brenna presented the Commission with lists of what could be done in the Park Construction Program if they would receive one, two and three mills. The ideas were carefully gone over and discussed. MOVED by Stan Anderson, seconded by Dan Oukrop, unanimously carried to recommend attwo mill levy for park construction to the Village Council so that we can show the people we intend to complete our present park system and not just drop it, now that we have Brookview. ADDITIONAL MEMBERS - PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION A subcommittee will meet on Thursday, Sept. 7th to discuss members that might be a possibility for the Commission to recommend to the Village Council. BRAUER AGREEMENT The Commission after a thorough reading of the Brauer Site Development Contract, recommends approval of the contract for the Brookview Park area.
