REGULAR MEETING OF THE
GOLDEN VALLEY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
February 27, 1969
A regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was held at
7:30 p.m. on Thrusday, February 27, 1969 at Brookview Municipal
Golf 1Course, 8200 Wayzata Boulevard, Golden Valley, Minnesota.
Chairman Kahn presided, and the following members were present:
Sullivan, Oukrop, Hammer, Brown, Jodan, Petersen, Reed, Herje, Kelby.
Members absent: Fischer, Tart, Forster, Weisenburger. Also present:
John Brenna, Park and Recreation Director; Richard Rosland, Assistant
Recreation Director; Delegates from the Teen Center and Lois Schaaf,
Secreatary.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was MOVED by Hammer, seconded by Brown to dispense with reading
of the minutes. Carried. MOVED by Petersen, seconded by Hammer,
unanimously carried to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of
January 30, 1969 as mailed.
SUB -COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
Chairman Kahn explained that there would not be alternates assigned
to the Sub -Committees this year, also that last year's Sub -Committee
chairmen were assigned to new committees this year. This change was
made so that they could take their ideas, thoughts and ways og
thinking to new committees. Pro -tem chairmen were named for the
purpose of calling for and conducting the first Sub -Committee meetings.
RECREATION SUB -COMMITTEE REPORT
Pro -tem Chairman Brown read the proposed Teen Constitution. A short
discussion was held before calling in the delegates representing the
Teen Center. The delegates expressed their wish that the Commission
ask questions on the "questionable items in the proposed Teen
Constitution.
After considerable discussion, it was MOVED by Hammer, seconded by
Oukrop, to accept the proposed Teen Constitution with suggested
corrections. Carried unanimously.
FEES AND CHARGES - BROOKVIEW COMMUNITY CENTER
At this time a new schedule of Fees and Charges and Rules and�Requla-
Tions for the Brookview Community Center were read and discussed. —It
was7OVED by Brown, seconded by Petersen to accept same with time
changes as specified on item #5 of the Fees and Charges. Carried
unanimously.
BROOKVIEW SUB -COMMITTEE REPORT
Chairman Kahn read the proposed by-laws of the Brookview Men's and
Women's Golf Associations. Several changes in the wording of the
by-laws were suggested. It was then MOVED by Reed, seconded by
Oukrop to adopt the by-laws as amended. Carried unanimously.

1. Acquisition East side of Winnetka & Western Avenue
2. Involvement community organization in Park development.
Recreation Sub -Committee --
1. Human relations -involvement - summer program.
2. Summer program planning.
Brookview Sub -Committee --
1. Latitudes permitted - total golf operation
2. Course improvement.
Chairman Kahn announced that

PATRON CARDS FOR VILLAGE EMPLOYEES
MOVED b y Herje, seconded by Brown to recommend to the Village
Council that Village employees living outside the Village of Golden
Valley be allowed to purchase Patron Cards for Brookview Municipal
Golf Course. Carried unanimously.
