REGULAR MEETING OF THE GOLDEN
VALLEY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
October 301, 1969
A regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was held at
7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 1969 at the Brookview Municipal
Community Center, 8200 Wayzata Boulevard, Golden Valley, Minnesota.
Vice -Chairman Fischer presided, and the following members were pre-
sent: Brown, Hammer, Herje, Jodan, Kelby, Oukrop, Petersen, Sullivan
Tart, Weisenburger. Absent: Brand, Kahn, Forster. Also present:
John Brenna, Park and Recreation Director.
MINUTES
It was moved by Petersen, seconded by Weisenburger, to approve the
minutes of the August 28th and September 2nd meetings with the follow-
ing amendment to the September 2nd minutes. (Last paragraph - line 2
to read as follows: It was the Park and Recreation Commission's
recommendation that the Park and Recreation Director seek a new golf
professional.) Carried.

Mr. Brenna stated that total expenses will be forthcoming as soon
as the Finance Department determines them.

New Approaches - Brookview
a. Swimming Pool
At this time Mr. Brenna asked the Commission to take another
look at the Swim Pool format for next year. The above matter was
referred to the Recreation Sub -Committee for further study.
b. Golf Operation
Mr. Brenna asked the Commission to further study the golf
operation in respect to these areas: Management, Patron Cards, and
Course Maintenance. The Commission referred the matter to the
Brookview Sub -Committee for study.
c. Patron Card Survey
Mr. Brenna stated that a survey as to attitudes, suggestions,
comments etc. relative to the Golf Operation should be sent out to
Patron Card holders for feedback purposes. After considerable
discussion, it was MOVED by Brown and seconded by Herje not to send
out a survey at this time, but to wait until more information was
available from this year's operation. Carried.
The Brookview Sub -Committee and the Recreation Sub -Committee will
meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3rd at the Brookview Municipal
Community Center.
Mr. Brenna stated that Mr. Omans, Village Manager, will meet with
the Commission on November 20th.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
11:00 P.M.
