10-6-1970GOLDEN VALLEY PARK AND RECREATION BOARD SPECIAL MEETING October 6, 1970 A Special Meeting of the Golden Valley Park and Recreation Board was held on Tuesday, October 6, 1970 at 6:30 p.m. at the Brookview Municipal Community Center, 8200 Wayzata Boulevard, Golden Valley, Minnesota. Chairman Fischer presided, amd the following members were present: Herje, Brown, Tart, Petersen. Members absent: Kahn, Brand, Kelby, Hammer. Also present: John Brenna, Park and Recreation Director. BROOKVIEW SHELTER BUILDING Pursuant to the Village Council making available $800.00 for the design and estimated cost of a Park Shelter building at Brookview Park, the Park and Recreation Board did engage the firm of Kilstofte and Vosejpka Architects. At the Regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Board in August. the Board did recommend the design and estimated cost of $26,800.00. At this time is is the recommendation of the Park and Recreation Board that the shelter building be built. It was MOVED by Herje, seconded by Brown that the Park and Recreation Board recommend to the Village Council that the Brookview Shelter Building be built for an estimated cost by the architect for $26,800.00 plus $2,144.00 archetectural fees, of which $800.00 has been paid - and that the following park fund monies be used for this purpose. a. Balance from Brookview Park road fund 81$000.00 b. Balance from Brookview main parking lot fund 15,000.00 c. Balance from Brookview Park seed & tree fund 5,000.00 Total $28,144.00 If our estimated cost runs over the $282144.00 figure, we are pre- pared to utilize some monies from our Park Construction Fund.
