SPECIAL MEETING
GOLDEN VALLEY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
March 2, 1972
A special meeting of the Golden Valley Park and Recreation Board
was held on Thursday, March 2, 1972 at 7:00 p.m. at the Brookview
Community Center, 8200 Wayzata Boulevard, Golden Valley, Minnesota.
Chairman Herje presided, and the following members were present:
Petersen, Hammer, Brown, Kelby. Members absent: Durda, Gergen.
Also present: Corey Bakken, Golf Operations Manager; John Brenna,
Park and Recreation Director.
BROOKVIEW GREEN FEES - 1972
At this time, discussion ensued relative to a possible fee
increase.
Mr. Bakken brought forth a 1971 and a proposed 1972 area
fee schedule.
This showed in 1971, Brookview's green fees to be $3.75
weekdays and
$4.25 weekends for 18 holes, and a $2.75 9 -hole fee. This compared
with other comparable courses in the following manner:
Brookview Braemar Mpls. St. Paul Dwan
Coon Rapids

The above comparison showed Brookview's fee schedule to
be slightly
higher then Mpls. and St. Paul courses and very similar
to Edina's,
Bloomington's and Coon Rapids' courses.
The 1972 proposed increases would compare with Brookview thusly:

It was Mr. Bakken's suggestion that in leiu of the fact
that no
relative increases for golf expenditures are anticipated, that we
hold our fee schedule for 1972, as is.

After much discussion relative to the present green fee structure,
it was MOVED by Hammer and seconded by Petersen, that we recommend
no increase in green fees for the 1972 season. Carried.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, it was MOVED by Petersen, seconded
by Brown that the meeting be adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
