DISCUSSION - ITEMS FOR POSSIBLE INCLUSION IN THE BOND ISSUE
Ice Arena (indoor)
Discussion ensued relative to the time factor in trying to make a
comprehensive study of an ice arena, with the closeness of a Sept-
ember date for a bond election. It was then MOVED by Herje and
seconded by Gergen that we do not include an ice arena in the bond
issue proposal at this time. Carried.
Swimming Pool (Out -door)
1
Discussion was brought forth relative to the number of pools located
in Golden Valley and operated by the Scholl districts. It was also
mentioned that the school districts are operating very aggressive pro-
grams for all ages and for all residents.
It was then MOVED by Burmeister and seconded by Petersen that an
outdoor swimming pool would not be included in the bond issue pro-
gram at this time. Carried.
Trails
It was discussed that the urban trails system, as proposed in the
Village Comprehensive plan, did affect each park area in that it
linked our park system, thereby giving more residents exposure to
all village parks, provided that the Trails Committee agreed it was
felt it would be desirable to include an amount for trails.
It was MOVED by Hammer, and seconded by Petersen, that we include
hiking and biking trails in the bond issue proposal. Carried.
PARK COMPLETION PLAN
After considerable discussion, relative to the completion of the
existing park system, it was MOVED by Petersen and seconded by
Herje that Chairman Brown present to the Village Council the prelim-
inary plans for neighborhood input meetings, and a time table for a
late September bond issue for the completion of our present park
system for their approval. Carried unanimously.
LOT FOR MINI -PARK (408 Sunnyridge Lane)
MOVED by Kathy Herje, seconded by Hammer that we thank Mr. Robert
Larson for his generous offer, but inform him that it does not
fit into our existing park system plan. Carried.
