Birno, Sharyl Thompson, and Rick Jacobson.

There was a follow-up meeting with the residents who live along the contin-
uation of the Laurel Avenue trail. The following residents attended the
meeting:

Rick Jacobson introduced Bob Close, landscape architect. Bob reviewed the
drawings of the trail plan. The residents asked several questions regard-
ing the project which were answered by the landscape architect and staff.
Following the meeting with the residents, the Open Space Commission moved
to the conference room for their general meeting.
MINUIES
A motion was made by George Murad and seconded by Rich Krahulec to approve
the minutes of March 28, 1988. Motion carried.
RBCREATICN REFC[;!T
Rick Birno showed the layout and outline for the summer programs. He
explained that ninety percent of last year's staff would return this year.
A program called "Lifetime Sports" is being added this year, and K -League
will be run in the evenings this year. Also, the playgrounds will be open
in the evenings.
Rick Jacobson complimented Rick Birno on the excellent job he has done with
the programs and as the staff liason with the athletic associations.
Rick Jacobson introduced Andy Lindquist, Greens Superintendent, to the
Commission. Andy gave a brief overview of the golf course and explained
the three major areas of work that will be completed this year. The
replanting of trees along General Mills Blvd. is ongoing, the Par 3 course
will be renovated and the #18 green will be reconstructed. The O mission-
ers took a tour of the golf course.
