Members Present: Rick Groger, Jim Johnson, George Murad, Michele Bix,
Chuck Burmeister, Pat Borchert.
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PNI.
A motion was made by George Murad and seconded by Chuck Burmeister to
approve the minutes of June 27, 1988. It was noted that Jim Johnson was
not in attendance at the June 27th meeting as the minutes indicated.
Motion carred.

Sandy Coughlin reported on the Babe Ruth program. This year a "prep"
league was instituted for 13 year olds. A total of 112 boys played in the
Babe Ruth program this year. Golden Valley is hosting the state Senior
Babe Ruth tournament. Bury & Carlson and Mrs. Seed donated money for
facility improvements.
Rick Jacobson thanked SAndy Coughlin for her work and help in running the
Babe Ruth program.

The following list is of ongoing capitol improvement projects: renovation
of the Par 3 golf course and 18th green, Natchez drainage improvements,
pond restoration at Brookview Park, Scheid tennis court resurfacing, as-
phalt improvements at Scheid and Natchez hard surface areas, the Laurel
Avenue trail, park lighting, playground equipment at Gearty and Yosemite
Parks, installation of a deep well for the golf course, driving range
improvements, and golf course tree planting.
Rick Jacobson explained the two phases of the City budget, the operating
budget which is currently being formulated, and the CIP budget which is
done separately.
Pat Borchert inquired about CIP projects for 1989. Rick Jacobson replied
that it will include many similar projects as this year with park upgrades
and renovation.
Chuck Burmeister stated that something should be considered for the Schaper
Property.
It was requested that consideration be given to improving the appearance of
northeast corner of Glenwood and Georgia.

George passed out copies of a master plan formulated by the Improvement
Committee which goes through the year, 1999. The Coamittee wi l l be reor-
ganized to be more formalized with terms of service, meeting attendance
guidelines, and with there be a certain number of committee members.
