Regarding the issue at Rice Lake, Rick Jacobson said that the City Council had received a petition
from the residents around the lake asking the City to cut back the weeds and possible dredge the
lake so the water is visible from the bog walk and their homes. This is a matter of policy, whether
or not the City wants to budget money to clear out the lake, or allow the area to take its natural
course.
Chuck Burmeister mentioned that he was disappointed this item was not on the agenda for
discussion. Chuck further stated that he felt the Rice Lake issue is a matter of policy and available
dollars to be decided by the City Council. George Murad agreed. The Commission asked to be
kept informed of further developments.
