November 23, 1992
Members present: Tom Zins, Marshall Rappaport, George Murad, Jim Johnson,
Mike Mauren, Alex Azemove, Rich Krahulec. Also present were: Barbara Bailey,
Sharyl Thompson and Rick Jacobson.
MINUTES
A motion was made by Marshall Rappaport and seconded by Peorge Murad to
approved the minutes of October 26, 1992.
FLAG PRESENTATION
Renee Schieck and Bernie Hartman from VFW Post 7051 presented a POW/MIA
flag to Brook -view Community Center. They also expressed their appreciation to the
Park and Recreation Department for assistance in joint community projects.
SENIOR PROGRAM REPORT - Barbara Bailey
Barbara Bailey reviewed the annual report on the seniors program. She explained
that a program evaluation survey had been done, and she reported on the results.
The Commission expressed their appreciation to Barbara for her excellent work,
and having one of the best senior programs in Minnesota.
OUTDOOR POOL TASK FORCE UPDATE
George Murad reported that the pool referendum lost by.a count of 5708 to 6944.
The Commission expressed their appreciation to George Murad and the other Task
Force members for their hard work and outstanding job.
OLD BUSINESS
Rick Jacobson gave the Commission members copies of the proposed CIP budget
for 1993 -1997. Various projects were explained and discussed in this budget.
Chuck Burmeister will be honored at a December or early January City Council
meeting for his many years of service to the City of Golden Valley and the Open
Space and Recreation Commission. In addition, the Outdoor Pool Task Force
members will receive certificates of appreciation from the Council at the same
meeting.
There will be no December meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Jim Johnson and seconded by Marshall Rappaport to
adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 8:25 PM.
