Members present: Rich Krahulec, Jim Sicora, Liz Elder, Roger McConico, Jim Johnson, Tom
Zins, Linda Loomis. Also present were Barbara Bailey - Senior Citizens Coordinator, Rick
Jacobson, and Sharyl Thompson - Recording Secretary.
AGENDA CHANGES OR ADDITIONS
The following items were added to the agenda: Area B Task Force Update, Commission Dinner,
May Meeting Date.
MINUTES
A motion was made by Roger McConico and seconded by Jim Sicora to approve the minutes of
March 24, 1997. Motion carried.
SENIOR CITIZENS REPORT - BARBARA BAILEY
Barbara Bailey, Senior Citizens Coordinator, gave her annual report on the senior activities.
There continues to be excellent participation from seniors throughout the area, including many
Golden Valley residents.
Barbara was commended for the excellent job she continues to do in serving the senior citizens.
HIDDEN LAKES PUD
City Council will be holding a PUD hearing on the Hidden Lakes Development on May 6`h. They
have given a representative from the Open Space and Recreation Commission ten minutes to
make a presentation at this hearing. Linda Loomis will be the representative, and will reiterate
the resolutions already passed by the Commission and sent on to the Planning Commission and
City Council regarding public access to the lake, etc.
Tom Zins inquired as to what became of the changes the Planning Commission requested of the
developer. Rick Jacobson responded that the developer has not brought any revised plans to City
Staff.
Rick Jacobson reported that he had talked with representatives from Hennepin Parks and the
Minneapolis Park Board regarding linking the trail through the Hidden Lakes development to the
county trail and Theo Wirth Park. Both agencies will consider the connection. Future meetings
will be scheduled to work out the details.

OLD BUSINESS
Schaper Property
Bids have been let for this development. They will go before the Council on May 20'.
Block B Task Force
Roger McConico gave a brief report, stating that ideas are still being brought forward as to what
should be included in the development.
NEW BUSINESS
Commission Dinner
The annual Commission Dinner will be held Thursday, May 22"d at Brookview Community
Center.
May Meeting
Due to Memorial Day,there will be no meeting in May.

A motion was made by Jim Johnson and seconded by Rich Krahulec to adjourn.
