OLD BUSINESS Sidewalk Committee Report Linda Loomis, a member of the Sidewalk Committee, discussed a petition that was signed by citizens requesting a sidewalk around the north side of the Country Club along Plymouth Avenue. The Council is requesting the Sidewalk Committee to meet and review the request made by the citizens. There is also a vacancy on the Sidewalk Committee to be filled by a member of the Open Space and Recreation Commission. Roger McConico volunteered for the Sidewalk Committee. The Committee is scheduled to meet in May at City Hall. As part of this year's Pavement Management Program, Olympia Avenue is scheduled to be reconstructed. The Sidewalk Committee's recommendation has listed the construction of a sidewalk on the south side of Olympia Avenue between Louisiana and Douglas as a second priority. Linda explained that first priorities are recommended to be constructed first, but second priority segments are often times constructed in conjunction with street reconstruction. It was explained to the commission that residents who live along Olympia are opposed to the construction of the sidewalk. After some discussion, the feeling of the commission was that this segment of sidewalk, as recommended by the Sidewalk Committee, is important since it completes the sidewalk along a relatively busy. street, which is between Winnetka and Douglas and across from Hampshire Park. Jerry Sandler made the motion to support the Sidewalk Committee's recommendation, Chuck Cahill seconded. Motion carried. Laurel/Winnetka Task Force Report Linda Loomis reviewed with the Commission the Task Force work thus far.
