II. Imagery Review
r. Images oflctivitics were reviewed. Scveral comments to improve the images were
discussed byT"I'ask Iorce. In general, more people anc diversity were requested to
reflect the goals of the project. Nlissing images included golf, preschoolers and teens.
1. Meeting space should be more celebratory
2. "Multiuse" classroom rather than "Flexible"
—Could show art, lecture and yoga
 3. Senior gathering images should be more informal
4. Rename"Meering and Event" to `Banquet and Event"
5. Wedding could be an outdoor image, rather than indoor
6. Show indoor Kid's Play image with different equipment
B. Indoor/outdoor aciviries page. Seasonal images would be nice. Bettex to see
people/activities in the images rather than materials. Hardscapes roof with plantings
does not work for this group.
C. Materiality Images were reviewed. Wood lends waYmth to the building palette. Wood
porch image is not well received, too barn-like. Glassy image is too modexn and does
not convey energy efficient architecCure. Middle two images are most successful.'I'ask
Force would like to see a midcentury palette—natural materials, brick, stone and big
windows. Many of the images shown are too stark and cold. Images should respect the
contExt and draw fram the community. Silverwood and Iigalow Chapel were gocd
examples that came up. FIUA to consider detailed images of materials rather than
spaccs.
III. Plan and Massing Review
A. Glenn xeviewed the revised site plan, floor plans and massing. Lobby gathering with
view to the golf course is lovely.
B. Golf Hole 10 could become Hole 1 in the future. 'T'herefore, the location of the Pro
Shop works very well as shown in the plans.
C. Switch locarion of Seniox CGathering with Classrooms.
I, Could the window into the Art Classroom show unique identiry and pYovide north
light?
E. Should sustainable initiarives be visible? Sustainable straregies will be developed further
in future design phases;potenrial for visibiliry can be vetted at that time.
F. Consider a covered drop off zvne.
  G. Consider covered parking for the east parking by the entry. 10-12 spaces on the entry.
H. City to assess potential grants that could offset building coses.
IV. Next Steps
A. Presentauon to City Council will include big picture visioning and images. Program,
cuYrent site plan, E]oor plan diagrams and massing are details in support of the vision.
f3. Presentation will be framed by how the`T'ask Force executed the vision set foxth in
Destination Golden Valley.
1. rn improved Golden alley
2. "I'he place to g;o
,3. Creating a real sensc of place
. "Near Brookview"
—Center should be an asset for future real estatc listings

C. Could each task force member speak for two minutes about what makes this project
special? How will community members use the place? This project will be the Council's
legacy. They should not settle for mediocrity.
D, "T'o be media ready, can the Task Force prepare a value story of"Why this project?"
alonwith images of the work done tr date?
 E. Cheryl has images of the ciry events that illustsate the active Golden Valley eommunity.
Ice cream social and Qther iconic social events can support the vision of this pxoject.
