Meeting of the Civil Service Commission at the Village Civic Center, called
to order at 7:30 P.M.
Members present: Hans Reiss, John Enghauser and Al Blasing. Also present
were village adminstrator Roger Ullstad and Acting Police Chief Everett
Frandsen.
The Village Administrator and the Acting Chief were requested by the
Commission to present evidence to the Commission regarding the financial
status of patrolman Alois Stein. After presentation and discussion of
such evidence, the Commission informally requested the Administrator and
the Acting Chief to, in the future, let normal legal procedure prevail
regarding any suits, judgments or garnishments against a member of the
Police Department. The Commission further requested the Administrator
and the ghting Chief to promptly notify the Commission of any such actions.
Commissioner Blasing presented a preliminary draft of new Rules &
Regulations covering the classifications within the Police Department,
of the positions of Captain, Leiutentnat and Sargent. After review,
discussion and revision of such rules & regulations;
MOTION by Enghauser, second by Reiss, to present the above revised
rules & regulations to the Village Attorney for his review and approval,
and subsequently to incorporate same in the existing Rules & Regulations,
and notify the Village Council that the positions of Captain, Leiutentnat
and Sargent were un -filled, passed unanimously.
MOTION by Blasing, second by Enghauser to adjourn passed unanimously.
