Minutes of February 3, 1971 Meeting
This meeting constituted the 1971 Annual Meeting of the Commission.
It was held at Chairman Erickson's home and was opened at 7:45 PM.
In attendance were:
Wallace Erickson, Chairman
Bob Hazelrigg
Ed Glass
Pat Moberg (guest, representing the League of
Women Voters)
Chief Frandsen
1 Minutes of the previous Annual Meeting were read and approved
as read. Minutes of the January 28, 1971 meeting were read
and approved as revised and issued.
2 Eligible Registers
• A It was agreed that a Lieutenant's Register would not be
developed until needed.
B The Sergeant's Register is in the process of developing.
C The Patrolman's Register is complete effective February 1, 1971.
3 A draft defining the Commission's general responsibilities and
another explaining examination procedures each were read and
modifications offered. The secretary will re -draft.

Starting $775/Mo
After 4 years minimum - $950/Mo
+ 212-/. for assignment to life insurance
(2) Sergeant
Starting $1000/Mo
After 1 year minimum - $1030/Mo
(3) Lieutenant and Chief - no set salary

(5) Higher Education Credit - 50�/month/quarter credit
in blocks of 10 credits
5 In 1970 - 2 police officers resigned, one was hired.
17 officers attended college in 1970.
6 In a review of the department's personnel attitudes, Chief
Frandsen believes that morale is improved over one year ago.
7 Bob Hazelrigg, outgoing Chairman of the Commission, received
the commendations of the Commission for his excellent leader-
ship this past year.
8 The meeting was adjourned at 10:20 PM.
