Minutes
Meeting of January 22, 1972

Glass, and Pierre Meyer

(Sergeant), and Dwight Wells (Patrolman)
Chairman Glass called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. in the Public
Safety Building.
Minutes of January 6th meeting approved as read. (Note that the year
1971 is typed but should be 1972).
Commission reviewed items to be covered at the annual meeting. The
annual meeting will be Tuesday, February 15, 1972.
The Commission continued the discussion about qualifications for
various grades. The educational curricula of Police Science or Law En-
forcement programs of State Colleges were reviewed. Tentative statements
by attorneys concerning effect of changes on current registers are not
definitive; Commission agreed to hold action until we have such information.
We reviewed all three grades with proposed educational qualifications.
The Commission noted questions to be raised at the meeting with the
Village Council. One such question is why was the educational incentive
planned dropped. Other questions refer to educational requirements.
.The meeting with the Village Council will be Monday, January 31,
1972.
