0 Meeting called to order at 7:36 by Chairperson Meyer.
Minutes of May 17, 1976 meeting were approved.
Resignation of Officer Bernard Meyer was recorded. The top three candidates
on the seniority list are being contacted to fi 1 1 the vacancy.
A discussion took place relative to the testing process which could be used
to fill sergeants positions.
A. The state of Minnesota has an old test that has been used
by other municipalities.
B. PDI has a test sequence.

2. Assessment Center
C. A Golden Valley P/S department test could be created.
A discussion took place on the weighting used in the testing process.
A. It was agreed that the percentage would be changed to 15%
supervisor rating and 5% for peer rating.
It was recommended that the ratings be controlled by
requesting the raters to complete the rating in the
department office and that the ratings be kept con-
fidential.

Experience Requirements
• 1. Director Crawford presented a March 24, 1976 survey results
regarding minimum application requirements for the position
of sergeant.
2. The association leans toward 3-5 years with some emphasis
on knowledge of Golden Valley
3. The Commission favors 3 years experience as a sworn officer
in Golden Valley.
A motion was passed that "the experience requirement for sergeant testing
be 3 years as a sworn office of Golden Valley by July 1, 1976."
Director Crawford will update the application form which will include a
brief statement on the position requirements.
The applications for the sergeants position will be due in the Di rector',s
office by 4/30/76.
Next meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on April 27, 1976.
