The annual meeting was called to order at 5:15 p o m, �e " i�anut ofVI
previous meeting were approved. The Chairman raised the issue of
election of officers for the current year. Traditionally, the Seci`
has become Chairperson, and the non -officer, Secretary. It'"wa.s. ,
seconded and approved that Am Gallagher be elected Chair. It"WaS a ,,
seconded and approved that Dr. John Taborn be elected Secret`yn,

1978 - 1. We have completed the second year of the team policngont:epfi',
and a report -has been made to the Governor's Crime Oontrdl

local school students conducted in conjunction with 'the North
Hennepin Kiwanis Club.)

1979 1. Currently a feasibility study is being conducted to improve
the radio dispatching system.
2.Work will continue to further improve the quality of investigation
and the clearance rate.
3. Work will -proceed with the Commission to establish Sergeant and
Police Officer Eligibility Rosters.
4. Zhe Department of Public. Safety staff will murk with the newly
appointed City Veterinarian.
5. The Golden .Valley Crime Prevention Fund will be revitalized.
6. Departmental long range goals will be prioritized.
7. Revision of ordinances will continue.
8. A capital improvement plan will be developed for future needs.
The Commission commends all members of the Department of Public Safety . for
their- performance during 1978, and is appreciative of the willingness of
members of the Department to work with the Commission on areas of mutual
concern.
Appreciation was extended to the outgoing Chairman for his leadership and
participation during this past year.
It was moved, seconded and approved that the meeting be adjourned.
