Meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held at the Village
Hall at 4:30 P. M., May 31, 1960.
Members present: Chairman, Enghauser; Secretary, Blasing and.
Comma Reiss.
Chairman Enghauser presented a letter of resignation from
Patrolman John F. Bauman, dated May c7, 1960. After some
discussion by the Commission, Reiss moved and Blasing seconded
to accept the resignation. Carried unanimously.
Pursuant to Civil Service Commission Rul6s and Regulations
(Sec. 10, adopted May 3, 1958, and Feb. 1, 1960), it is
required that the commission certify for permanent status any
appointee who has successfully completed a six months pro-
bationary period to the satisfaction of the Police Civil
Service Commission. This section applies both to original
appointments and promotional appointments. Pursuant to the
foregoing, Chairman Enghauser moved, seconded by Blasing, that
Mr. Everett Frandsen be certified for the position of permanent
Chief of the Golden Valley Police Department, having success-
fully completed the six months probationary period. Carried
unanimously. Chairman Enghauser instructed the secretary to
write the letter to the Village Council to this effect, with
copies to other interested parties.
Chairman Enghauser also instructed the secretary to write a
letter to Chief Frandsen to interview the top three candidates
of the eligible roster and select one of the three, subject
the candidate to a physical examination, and certify to the
Commission the name of the successful candidate to be employed
and the date that this candidate will begin his probationary
period. These instructions were given to the secretary on
May 30, 1960.
There being no further business, Reiss moved and Blasing seconded
that the meeting be adjourned. Unanimously carried.
