Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that the clerk be authorize: to
issue permits for the dischargeing of firearms within the Village
during Pheasants season .A fee of 50¢ be charged for a permit, and
hunting be allowed only west of the Belt Line Hghwy

to transfer the liquor abd beer license at the Turf Club

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING DIGGING AND EMVATING IN PUBLIC THOROUGHFARES,REQUIR—
ING A PERMIT THS' EFOR, SETTING THE TERMS OF SUCH PERMITS, AND REQUIRING A BOND
AS A CONDITION PRECEDENT TO GRANTING SUCH PFITS
The Village Gfuncil of the Village of Golden Valley do ordain as follows:
1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation hereafter to dig
or excavate in any street, alley, or public highway in this village for any
purpose whatsoever without first having received a written permit from the
Village Council.
2. Such permits shall be granted only upon the written application of the person,
firm, or corporation, contemplating such digging or excavation or authorizing
the same and such application shall be accompanied by a fee in the amount of )01`
covering the costs of inspection and issuance, such fee to be paid to the
treasurer of the Village.
3. Such permits shall contain such conditions as seem fit to the council of the
Village and, in addition, every such permit shall contain the following pro-
vision, which provision shall be binding upon the applicant:
"This permit is granted subject to the provision that the holder thereof
will not dig or excavate in any street, highway or public thoroughfare
in the Village of Golden Valley for the purpose of laying or constructing
any sewer pipe or line which shall now or later be connected with the
sewage pipe, line, or system of any municipality or political subdivision
of the StAle of Minnesota; and subject to the further provision that the
applicant will save the Village harmless from any damages that may result
from such digging or excavation or a violation of the terms of this per-
mit; and subject to the further provision that nothing in this permit
shall be construed as binding the Village, expressly or impliedly, to
any agreement in contravention of the terms of this permit or of ble
provisions of the ordinance under which it is granted."
4. fte Council may, as a condition precedent to the granting of any permit under
this ordinance, require the applicant to post a bond in an amount not eacveajing
$11,000.00%, which bond shall run to the Village and whose terms shall save
the Village harmless from any and all damages suffered by any party be reason
of such digging or excavation.
5. Every person, firm, or corporation who shall violate any provision of this
ordinance, shall upon conviction thereof, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and pubished by a fine of not less than ten dollars nor more than one hundred
dollars and costs of prosecution, or by imprisonment in the village or county
jail for not less than ten days nor more than 90 days.
6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and as its passage
and publicagion according to law.
