Minutes of the regular council meeting held March I7, 1942 were read.
Motion by Reiss seconded by $randsen that the minutes be approved as read.

Minutes of the special meeting held March 24, I942 were read.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Busch that tcie minutes be approved as read.

A Treasures report was read and ordered placed on file.
The chairman appointed Arthur Munchune and Mal Olma.n members of the
Planning Commission and asked conformation by the council.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Wilson that the appointments be confirmed.

Mr. Frandsen, chairman' cif the road committee; brought up the question of
renting Village equipment.
Motion by Frandsen seconded by Wilson that the question of renting Village
equipment lay on the table until the next regular council meeting and
that the Village Attorney make a report of the renting of Village
equipment td the council.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen to grant soft drink licenses to Max
Feld, E.M. Barbero. and Theodore Wirth Chalet and the Gun Club.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Busch to grant cigarette licenses to Theodore
Wirth Chalet for one year and to Golden Valley Golf Club for six months*

Motion by Frandsen seconded by Busch to grant a 3.2 on sale license to the
Theodore Wirth Chalet.

John Horsager, Joe Lochets, and Donald HeIrers.

Max Feld.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Busch to grant the Nothern States Power permit
to erect poles as requested.

A letter from E.J. Mc Ardells asking for a permit to erect a Midway of Fun
in the Village was read.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Frandsen that such a permit be declined.

A copy of a letter written by A.P. Juno to kirs. Yable Cauhren was read
and ordered placed of file.
A letter from the Federal Housing Administration was read and referred to
the Planning Commission.
The Chairman recommended that no new man be hired on the police force.
The Chairman recommended an increase of one dollar a day for Captain
Mc Ginnie to be effected the I5th of Anril, and asked conformation by the
council.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Milson that the increase in salary be confirmd
Raskep, Frandsen, Raise, Busch Wilson (Yes).
Motion by Reiss seconded by Busch to accept the fob Hill Platt, subject
to working out of an agreement for future construction of roads on the
remainder of Clinton Jenson nroperty,to be apnroved by the Village Attorney

Motion by Reiss seconded by Busch to adopt the following resolution:
NOTICE IS FVC EBY GIVEN tliat the Village Council of the Village of Golden
Valley, Minnesota, will -:meet at eight o'clock in the evening on April 21,
1942, to pass upon the proposed re-assessrrtent for the Street Izorovement
No. 2 insofar as t:�e cost for said irxproveraent is to be borne b -y certain
?aro?�erty fronting and abixtting on Westwood give, including property so
fronting and abutting owned by the following persons:

Ethel Wilcox and slice Jones
Frank 5tatt and Genevieve Statt
said proposed re -assessment having been -made by tre Village Recorder and
James Riley. Said proposed re --assessment is on file for oubic inspection
at may office. ,any person desiring to object, to the assessment is required
to file with the Village Clerk a written statembnt of ":pis or her objections
on or before tele date of hearing. All objections not thus set out i>{ writ-
ing and filed are deemed waived. AP_y person thus filing objections riiay also
be heard by the Council at the meeting referred to above.
