as shozra upon thth plan which is presented herewith and made a part hereof, and
WHEREAS, Said Coim fission-er of Highira�s i�_desirous of constructing, "re-
constructing and improving said Trunk liigl-wray through said Village ;
and has prepared plans for said construction, reconstruction and improverient, a
copy of which said plans are presented herewith and made a part of this resolution;
and

Highway requires a change in the grade of the streets in said Village
along and upon which said Trunk Highz.ray passes, said change of grade being desig-

A letter from the Planning Commission-i—in regard to the numbering of
houses in Golden Valley lqas read and ordered placed on file.
Motion by Frandsen seconded by Reiss to adopt the following resolution:
Resolved by the Village Council Of The Village Of Golden Valley
that the street and house numbering plan) developed by the Planning
Commission and recommended for adoption be adopted as the official
numbering system of the Village of Golden Valley and the attorney Be
instructed to draw up and ordaince to enforce the system numbering hoU906

Mrs. Finn and Mr. inghauses, members of the Planning Commission, explained
the now house numbering system in Golden Valley.
A petition to change the I.J. Brown property from "Residential" to
"Commercial enterprise" was, -presented to the council. The chairman
instructed the clerk to check the property owners on the petition.
Motion by Reiss seconded by Busch to grant a 3.2 on sale license for 6
months to Hart Du Prey.

A letter from the Henn. County Fair Board was read and tabled until the
next council meeting. I
The Village clerk presented two affidavits Df publication of a notice of
hearing on the proposed rea=sessment on the Maddaus, Wilcox) and Statt
property. The Village clerk stated that he had costed notices in three
parts of the Village.

Mr. Riley gave a report on the reassessing of properties abutting Westwood
Drive, that owned by Frank and Genevieve Statt, Ethel Wiicox, and Alice
J ones , and Louis W 'Kaddaus.
The Village clerk read the written abjections to the proposed re assessment,
by Ralph Parker, attorney for Frank and Genevieve Statt, Louis kaddaus,
and .Ethel Wilcox.
Bir. Parker, attorney for Fr:nk and Genevieve Statt, Losis Maddaus, and
Ethel vilcox,-gave oral objection to the proposed reassessment.
Yr. Riley was asked if any of the Wilcox property faced Glenwood Ave.
lir. xiley answered,"Yes".
Mr. Paul Olson and Yir. Bill Swan spoke in favor of the. proposed reassess—
ment.
r. Riley w.a:s asked if he knew any of the nronerty owners on estwcod

BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. The Village has duly constructed a street iiaorovement under the provis-
ions of Chapter 382, Laws of Minnesota for 1925.
2. Louis 17. Maddaus, Ethel Tillcox and Alice Jones, and Frank Statt and
Genevieve Statt appealed from the special assessment levied against proir-
erty owned by them abutting on Westwood Drive to defray the costs of said
improvement insofar as the cost thereof was to be borne by said property.
3. On that appeal the special assessment therein was set aside by the
Court and returned to the Council for re -assessment,
4. The Village Clerk has with the assistance of James Riley, a competent
person selected by the Council, calculated the proper amount to be specially
assessed as and for said re -assessment for the construction of said im:)rove-
ment against tr:e property abuttin- on Westwood Drive owned by Louis 17.
Mgddaia.s, Ethelt Willcox and Alice ones, and Frank Statt and Genevieve
Statt, and against every assessable lot, piece or parcel of such property
.in accordance with tie provisions of law and as prepared and filed with the
Village Clerk in the proposed re -assessment.
5. Notice of the time and place of Meeting to consider said assessment and hear
and pass upon all objections has been given as renuired by law.
6. The Village Council has considered thepro.iosed assessment and all objection8
thereto and makes amendments or changes

7. It is hereby found, determined, and declared that each of the lots, parcels,�
or pieces of land described in the prorosed re-assess.-ent were benefitted in
the amount set apposite the description theremf
and said assessment is hereby confirmed against each such lot, piece, or parcel
of land.
8. Tlae Village Clerk small forthwith deliver a certified copy of said re -asses
ment roll, including this resolution, to tree Village Treasurer, and he small
give notice of the recei�-fit of said assessment roll and of the due date of said
assessment as provided by law.
9. The assessnients not maid In or before the due date shall be payable in ten 9
equal annual install,ents, the first installment to be due on the 1st day of I
January in the year 1943, and payable with the 1942 taxes, and eaen subsequent
installment shall be due and nayable on the follovrin January lst -until all said
installments have been maid, and each such assessment shall bear interest at the
rate of six per cent per annum, payable annually from tine due date.
10. The proceeds of said special assessments ,=hen and as tale same are collected
shall be paid into "Street Improvement No. 2 Fund" and sho.11 be used solely to
Iay principal and interest on the warrants issued oris said fund.
