,The regular meeting of the Council of the Village A Golden Valley
.was called to order by the Chairman Raymond T Raskop.
.Members present Raekop Frandsen Reiss Busch and Wilson
Minutes of the eauncil meeting held Jan.5,1943 were read.
Motion by Frandsen seconded by Reiss that the minutes stand approved
as read. .�

The treasurers report was read andAplaced on file.
A report from the Chairman of the road committee was ordered placed
on file.
Motion by Frandsen seconded by Busch that the present members of the
Golden valley Planning Commission serve for ,the duration of the War.

Motion by Reiss seconded by Busch that cigirette licenses be granted
to the Theo.'Wirth Chalet and The Turf Taverine.

Uniform Village Law
Municipal sharing in gross earnings taxes
Authority to promote councilman to mayor;
WHEREAS these measures have the support of the League of Minnesota Municipal—
ities of which the Village of Golden Valley is a member;

WHEREAS it is the unanimous opinion of t:— president, recorder, and trustbes
w,ho comprise the Village Council of the Village of Golden Valley that passage
of these bills is in the public interest;
NOW* THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of the Village of
Golden Valley urges the members of both houses of the legislature who repre-
sent the districts in which the V611age of Golden Valley is located to support
these bills and secure their enactment into law;
BE IT FVRT�,-3k RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to said members
of both houses of"the State Legislature;
A)M. BE,IT PURTHM RESOZVED that the spe-Afic mention of the above meaevres
does not imply opposition to any other phase of the legislative program of
the League of Minnesota Municipalities nor to any measure whose passage the

Motion by Frandsen seconded by Reiss that the resignation be accepted.

retained as attorney to handle the Glen UrbtLn and Herman Held cases
